IB Swedish A

Swedish A

SparkSwedish can support you if you want to take Swedish A self-taught as one of your IB subjects or if you already study Swedish A and want a tutor to help you improve the skills essential to succeed in one of the Swedish A courses.

After taking any of the IB Swedish A courses you will be eligible to apply to universities in Sweden and the other Nordic countries.

Swedish A Literature self-taught
When studying for the IB Diploma you are encouraged to study your mother tongue, even if the language is not offered at the school where you study. In this case you can take the Swedish A Literature course as a self-taught student with the support of an experienced tutor from SparkSwedish, who is also an experienced IB teacher. In this case SparkSwedish works together with your school to give you the support you need to reach your full potential.

As a self-taught Language A student, you have to take the Swedish A Literature course at Standard Level (SL). The requirements are the same as for taught SL students but the assessment procedures for the so-called internal assessment differ slightly.

What we offer:

  • A reading list that meets all IB requirements

  • A study plan to help you balance your workload

  • Study material for literary analysis, the studied works, essay writing and more

  • Preparation, marking, and feedback on your written work, oral presentations and mock exams

  • Support and guidance during the planning of the individual oral assessment

  • Online sessions with an experienced IB teacher once a week during the school year (approximately 64 sessions over the two years)

Fees
Year 1: £2650 / €3100 per student
