IB Swedish A Revision courses

SparkSwedish offers revision courses for both Swedish A Literature and Swedish A Language and Literature. 

 

Our Swedish A revision courses offer a flexible, personalised learning experience designed to suit the needs of each student even though you are part of a small group.

Whether you want to strengthen your analysing skills, improve your use of language, or perfect your essay writing, our courses provide an opportunity to select the parts you want to revise and focus on. Consequently, you can choose to sign up for a full course or select the parts of the course that are most relevant to you.
 

Our Swedish A revision course typically consists of the following parts: 

​

1. Paper 1 Practise (for the Literature or the Language and literature course): Our experienced instructors will guide you through textual or literary analysis and provide personalised feedback on your written work.

​

You will also learn:

  • how to analyse poetry and extracts from prose, non-fiction and drama (Literature students)

  • how to analyse different text types such as columns, print ads and speeches (Languahe and Literature students)

  • how to plan your analysis, structure an argument and write a strong introduction and conclusion

  • how to appropriately answer the guiding question

  • how to demonstrate an understanding of the text and how to analyse textual features and/or authorial choices

  • how to target the assessment criteria.

 

2. Paper 2 Practise: The tutors from SparkSwedish will support you in revising the works chosen for the Paper 2 Essay, show you efficient ways to analyse the works, instruct you on how to write a well-organized comparative essay, and provide personalised feedback on your written work.

 

You will also learn:

  • how to plan your essay, structure an argument and write a strong introduction and conclusion

  • how to appropriately answer the essay question

  • how to demonstrate your knowledge of the literary works

  • how to target the assessment criteria.

 

3. Improve your use of language: An essential part of all assessment components are to communicate clearly and effectively in order to get your point across. In this part of the course, we will give you advice on how you can improve your language use, grammar and, sentence structure. Furthermore, we will go through mistakes IB students often make and how you can avoid them.

Swedish B and Ab Initio Revision Courses

SparkSwedish offers revision courses for Swedish B and Swedish ab initio students. Our revision courses offer a flexible, personalised learning experience designed to suit the needs of each student even though you are part of a small group. 

 

Whether you want to revise course content, improve your use of language, practise reading and listening comprehension or revise grammar, our courses provide an opportunity to select the parts you want to focus on. Consequently, you can choose to sign up for a full course or select the parts of the course that are most relevant to you. 

During our Swedish B and Swedish Ab Initio revision courses we will focus on: 

  • activities designed to improve your reading, writing, and listening skills

  • how you can improve your language use, grammar and sentence structure

  • learn new vocabulary and revise specific grammar points if needed

  • exam strategies for Paper 1 Writing and Paper 2 Listening and Reading

  • Paper 1 and Paper 2 practise.

 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to focus on your specific needs and goals and receive customized feedback and guidance from an experienced Swedish instructor.

If you take the revision course during year 1 or between year 1 and 2 you will also have the opportunity to practise speaking about a wide range of topics connected to the themes in the course, plan and give presentations.
